This South Sudan trip will take you to Tarekeka in the north-east of Juba to learn about one of South Sudan’s unique tribes, the Mundari. These are farmers, cattle herders, and agriculturalists who live in dispersed villages. They live a mostly traditional lifestyle. This South Sudan trip will take you to Tarekeka in the north-east of Juba to learn about one of South Sudan’s unique tribes, the Mundari. From there, this wildlife and cultural tour will take you to Uganda’s Nimule National Park in the south. Following a wildlife trek and exploration of the park, our tour guides and drivers will transport you further south-east to the towns of Torit and Kapoeta for a second visit to the tribes of Boya and the Toposa.

The tour will take you to Boma National Park from Kapoeta. Boma, which covers 22,800km2, is one of Africa’s largest wildlife reserves, with a migration on par with the Serengeti and the famous Kruger and Ruaha parks.

Day 1

Arrival in Juba, South Sudan Arrival in Juba, South Sudan's capital. Upon arrival at the airport, obtain your visa, meet your guide, and transfer to the hotel Landmark. The remainder of the day is free for relaxation and exploration of the Konyo-Konyo market. PM Drive a little further north of Juba to see the presidential palace. Return to Juba to see Dr. John Garang's mausoleum and the Jubek tomb. Lunch and dinner are served. Tents for accommodation

Day 2

Breakfast and an early morning photo shoot with the cattle. Farewell to the Mundari tribal land, followed by a long drive back to Juba. After lunch in Juba, we take the tarred road to Nimule (Uganda border) and turn left in Magwi to reach Torit. Torit Vision Hotel Overnight Meals (B, L and D)

Day 3

Drive west to the roadside settlement of Camp 15 to explore the Boya villages nestled among rocky hills. Drive to the Lotuko Mountains after mingling with the Boya, who are known for their beautiful scarifications and nose and lip piercings. Hike for 30 minutes to Ilieu village, a traditional Lotuko village, then continue to Lotuko territory and camp near the village, with the possibility of seeing traditional dances in the evening. Day 4

Torit-Kapoeta-Topossa Villages Drive Kapoeta is 5 hours east. Drive to the villages of the Toposa people, one of the country's most traditional ethnic groups, after setting up camp. Camping for the Night Meals (B, L and D)

Topossa Villages. Visit the tribal market in Topossa and the gold mines, where tribal people gather to extract precious metal from handmade wells. Late afternoon return to Kapoeta for the overnight Mango Camp Overnight Meals (B, L and D)

Drive from Kapoeta to the halfway point between Kapoeta and Boma National Park. Headquarters, with stops in Toposa, Jie, and Murle villages along the way. Murule Village Overnight Camping Meals (B, L and D)

Drive to the headquarters of Boma National Park. Drive to the Boma National Park Headquarters, stopping at various Murle Villages along the way. The majority of this drive will take you through Boma National Park. Set up a mobile camp near the park's headquarters. Camping for the Night Meals (B, L and D) (B, L and D)
